Public Interest Projects originally planned to make investments in businesses, but very quickly realized the only way to have a successful downtown business was to have a 24-hour downtown. Most of our real estate projects have been residential or multi-use renovations. We keep retail on the street level whenever possible and residential on upper floors. We have restored a number of historic buildings under the guidelines set forth by the Department of the Interior, integrating modern uses while maintaining the architectural character of our downtown.
