Orange Peel
Be
Here Now, a wonderful live music venue in downtown Asheville closed in
2001. While there are many smaller venues operating, Public Interest Projects
felt downtown needed a larger club. When 101 Biltmore Avenue became available,
PIP realized we had the opportunity. Serendipitously, Jack and Lesley
Groetsch, former owners of the Howlin' Wolf, recognized by Rolling Stones
magazine as one of the best music clubs in New Orleans, were looking for
a smaller city to raise their family. The result is The Orange Peel Social
Aid & Pleasure Club, a Music Hall and Concert Venue featuring the
best in live music. The Orange Peel brings local and national touring
acts, a great atmosphere, and a full bar at every show, providing some
of the very best entertainment in Western North Carolina.
